Keyen was born in Denver, Colorado, and currently resides in Fate, Texas. At a young age, Keyen was always obsessed with music. He can be heard constantly throughout the house singing or humming a tune he either made up or heard. Even when his performance was bad, he continued to sing because it was something he loved to do. To this day, Keyen can still be heard singing around the house, but now with a slightly better understanding of pitch.
Keyen attended Prairie View High School in Colorado and continued to explore his passion for music. He joined his high school choir during his freshman year and was a part of the group until he graduated in May 2020. During his senior year of high school, Keyen wanted to pursue another form of music and performance and participated in his high school theater club. There, he was cast as an ensemble member for the 2020 winter performance of High School Musical: The Musical. After performing during his senior year, he found a new passion for theater and the performing arts and wanted to pursue more in College.
Keyen attended Regis University in 2020 and graduated with a BA in Music, emphasis in Recording Arts, and a minor in Communications. There, Keyen continued his passion for music and performance and not only participated in the Regis University Collegium Choir and Regis University Concert Choir, but he was also president of the Regis Theater Club, the Regis Ramblers. There Keyen would be cast in many different roles such as Linus in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, Ensemble in Cinderella, Joe in 9 to 5, and lastly Bill Austin in Mamma Mia! Keyen not only participated with the Regis Ramblers but also studied Voice with Dr. Adam Ewing and Dr. Blake Nawa’a and performed in many Student Voice Recitals.
While at Regis, Keyen explored the art of video production and digital storytelling, taking film and editing classes within the Communications field. There, he learned how to storyboard and film, later teaching himself how to use Adobe Premiere and After Effects to edit his videos. Keyen also learned the ins and outs of Recording Arts with the help of his professor Cory Cullinan. He would go on to be on three student albums created by students within these Recording Arts classes and would love the atmosphere of being not only a singer/songwriter, but a producer as well.
As a producer, Keyen enjoys creating Pop music with influences from K-POP and artists such as Ryan Mack, BLACKPINK, and Ben Platt. Keyen’s goal as a producer is to create songs that allow people to feel understood and seen. Creating songs to blast in the car to get over a break-up, or a song to just dance the night away. Keyen’s music is all about expressing yourself and your emotions because that is what music does for him.
Keyen’s dream goal is to become his own artist and have just 1 song become popular. However, he also aspires to become a professional producer or a ghostwriter for another artist.
